Writing Progress Reports: A Guide for Tutors

The simplest way to complete progress reports is via the BrightPath platform. Regular reporting upholds teaching standards, keeps families informed, and maps the student’s learning journey.

  • Log in to the BrightPath platform before the required deadline.
  • Enter your qualitative feedback, scores, and observations into the reporting portal.
  • Review, edit, and validate the AI-generated draft to ensure it is accurate, factual, and constructive.
  • Submit the report to instantly update the parents' reporting dashboard.

Key Reporting Milestones

To ensure visibility and consistency, complete two key reporting milestones for each family:

  • Complete the 21-Day Assessment Report at the end of the first 21 days (or by Lesson 4, whichever comes first). Formalise your diagnostic findings into a structured academic plan, detailing the student’s current working grade, priority knowledge gaps, and a realistic timeline to their goal.
  • Submit the Monthly Progress Report before each calendar month ends. Use this to update families on the closing of knowledge gaps, progress in independent learning and attitude metrics, and outline the lesson plan for the upcoming month.

What Your Reports Must Include

Ensure your qualitative input covers all required elements before you validate each report for the parents' portal:

  • The student demonstrated understanding of those topics.
  • Core areas for further development and recommendations for the student.
  • Evaluative inputs on student engagement, attitude to learning, and their level of independence.

Finally, keep in mind that progress reports are mandatory. Since these reports use AI-generated content on the platform, you remain responsible for reviewing, refining, and validating every submission.
