How to message a student or parent

We know the importance of communication between tutor, parent and learner. However, we also need you to stress the importance of safeguarding and following our process for communication with students and parents.

LessonWise Messaging Policy

To ensure students are properly safeguarded, we have a strict policy for messaging students and parents.

With regards to communication with students and parents, the key thing to remember is:

To protect students, it is against our Safeguarding Policy and Tutor Terms and Conditions to communicate with students and parents outside of BrightPath. Doing so could lead to immediate removal from our platform.

When messaging students and parents please ensure that:

  • All communication is done via BrightPath
  • You never share your phone number or email address with a student or parent
  • If a student or parent asks to communicate with you off-platform, you notify Customer Support immediately

We not only do this to protect students, but we also do it to protect you as tutors. By keeping all communication on BrightPath, we’re able to support you if there is ever a complaint raised against you.

How to message a student or parent

To make communication easy and keep everything in one centralised place, we’ve created a messaging hub for you within BrightPath.

Steps to send a message:

  1. Log in to your Tutor Dashboard.
  2. Click on Messages in the navigation bar.
  3. Click New Message.
  4. Search for and select the student or parent you want to contact.
  5. Type your message in the message field.
  6. Attach any files if required.
  7. Click Send to send your message.
  8. View and manage ongoing conversations from the side bar
